I&E Apprenticeship Pathway

Start in the field, move up in pay, reinvest in your skills, and grow through our I&E Community.

STEP 1 ENTRY LEVEL

Start in the Field: Industrial Electrician or Instrument Fitter

Launch your career on the tools: learn safety, LOTO, JSAs, permits, scaffold basics, bandsaw use, fittings, conduit, unistrut, anchor bolts, lights, panels, cutting, fabrication, and building supports.

Typical pay: $20+/hr (with some travel pay/per diem on certain jobs)
⬇️
STEP 2 MID LEVEL

Reinvent Yourself: Instrument Technician

After time in the field, come back and reinvest into our Instrument Tech course—calibration, documentation, process control, troubleshooting, and signal work that builds on your electrical or fitter foundation.

Typical pay: around $40+/hr (depending on experience, site, and travel)
⬇️
STEP 3 ADVANCED

Specialize: PLC or Analyzer Technician

With Instrument Tech experience and strong fundamentals, reinvest again into our advanced PLC or Analyzer training. Move into high-responsibility roles that support automation, controls, and critical process reliability.

Earning potential: higher-tier I&E roles with strong demand in automation & process control.
Learn a trade, then reinvest to trade up your skills, pay, and responsibility inside the I&E world.
